What can I store?

You can store almost anything at StoreWise as long as it’s not perishable, flammable or illegal! You cannot store flammable, toxic or explosive substances, LPG cylinders or any other compressed gases, any paints, thinners, petrol or oil, any firearms or ammunition, any chemicals (including and especially any oxidising agents), any plants and no animals.

How safe will my things be?

All StoreWise sites have 24hr CCTV and are checked daily to ensure your container is safe and secure.

How much space do I need?

At StoreWise we will work with you to identify the ideal storage room and size for your needs. You can check out our Size Guide or give us a call on 0800 276 1284 (Poole) or 0800 276 1281 (Kirkby) if you have more questions.

When can I move in?

As soon as you like! As long as you are able to show a StoreWise team member suitable proof of identity (a passport), proof of address (a recent utility bill or bank statement from a UK address), and have means of payment other than cash, you can move in straight away.

Does StoreWise hold a key to my container?

No, you are the only key holder.

Can StoreWise provide padlocks?

Yes we do. You can buy a padlock when you arrive from StoreWise alternatively you can provide your own lock, as long as it meets our robust standards.

How do I pay for my storage room?

We offer a number of payment options including direct debit, credit card and debit card. We do not take payment in cash.

When and how can I access my stuff?

You can access your stuff at any time 24hours a day 7 days a week.

Do I have to reserve my storage space?

It is advisable to pre-book your storage room if you want to guarantee your space. We charge just £20 for this and your money is refunded against the rental cost when you move in. However, please don’t panic if it’s a last minute arrangement as we will always try our best to accommodate you. Do I have to sign a contract?

You will need to sign a Storage Licence Agreement before you move in. You will then be issued with full terms and conditions of storage, at which point our friendly staff will explain these to you and answer any questions you have.

Is insurance compulsory and how is it calculated?

Insurance is a requirement of renting storage space within the UK. We can arrange cover for no more than £3.50 per month per £1,000 of goods insured (minimum cover is £2,000).

Can you help me get my goods into my room?

We can recommend removal and ‘man with a van’ companies that will help you transport your personal items.

Do you sell boxes, padlocks and other packing materials?

We offer a full range of packing materials in our store, our ‘Saver Packs’ offer significant savings versus buying individual items.

Are there parking facilities?

Our store has free parking and loading bay services for your convenience.

What happens if I need a different size container as time goes on?

One of the benefits of StoreWise flexible storage solutions means that you can easily increase or decrease the size of your container as your need changes, so you’ll never have to pay for space you are not using.

How much notice do I need to give when I want to move out?

We require you to give 14 days notice in writing (an email is fine) when you want to vacate your storage room. We will then calculate any refund for unused storage time that you are due.

SECURITY

At StoreWise, ensuring that your stuff is safe is our number one priority. Working closely with the Self Storage Association (SSA) UK, the emergency services and other Statutory Authorities we guarantee to not only comply with, but to exceed expected regulations.

Our staff are on site seven days a week and are trained to monitor and react to any irregular or suspicious activity in or around the store. Out of hours our store is closely monitored by an external security company through CCTV.

All new customers need to provide relevant identification before they can start storing with us. Cash payment is not accepted for the initial transaction in order to provide a traceable source of payment for new customers.

Every storage unit has its own lock and you, the customer, will hold the only key to that lock. We do not allow customers to provide their own locks unless they are up to the robust standards required by StoreWise.

StoreWise does not offer unrestricted 24 hour access to our store. Access is limited to our reception trading hours, which is open 7 days a week. Our security service can be summarised as the following:

  • Digital CCTV covering main access point to the storage area, constantly monitored throughout the day.
  • Staff trained to monitor all security services
  • Staff walk-around before reception opens and closes
  • Daily store patrols by staff
  • Licence terms & conditions
  • Requirement for customer ID and proof of address
